Designer's Pick: Top 3 Dresses & Jumpsuits of 2018

In 2000, Connected Apparel launched with Gloria as Head of the Design Department and we couldn’t be more honored to still have her on our team and as part of our family!

Now that you’ve “met” Gloria, let’s find out her picks for the 3 best dresses and jumpsuits of 2018.

Why did you choose this dress? What about it makes it so great?

The Lisa 2.0 dress is a classic silhouette made from a fabric that moves with you. It boasts an extremely comfortable fit that looks and feels amazing on any body shape and is designed with smart and thoughtful details.

What occasion would you suggest someone wear this dress to? How would you style it?

This dress is perfect for many different events, including career, daytime, evening, cocktail parties and numerous special occasions, both formal and informal. To style this dress, I would keep it simple to let the dress speak for itself. If it's a less formal outing, go for a pair of studs and a shorter heel. If you're going to a nice event, try a pair of dangling earrings (colored jewels are always great) and a pair of high heels. 

Is this a new dress silhouette to Connected Apparel's collection? If not, what has been so great about it?

The Lisa 2.0 is an update to our tried-and-true Lisa silhouette. After nine years of making and selling the Lisa dress, this style continues to be one of our most popular and versatile dresses. So this year, we created the Lisa 2.0 by adding a flounce to the sleeve. This helped us modernize this timeless silhouette while not taking away from what makes it such a great dress

Why did you choose this jumpsuit? What about it makes it so great?

We've received a ton of great feedback about the Uptown jumpsuit so I felt it was important to highlight it here. The coverage of a jumpsuit coupled with the femininity of a drape neck makes this silhouette figure flattering and elongates the body. Not to mention the fabric has stretch to it so the Uptown is a comfortable and chic jumpsuit option. 

What occasion would you suggest someone wear this jumpsuit to? How would you style it?

Wear Uptown for any occasion where you want to be an elegant standout. The fabric does it all, and the draped neck and tie belt is all you need to be good to go. If you want to add jewelry, keep it very simple. And if you want a contemporary flair, try a square knot instead of a classic bow at the waist.

Is this a new piece in Connected Apparel's collection? If yes, why did you decide to put it on the line?

The fabric has been a strong seller for us and since jumpsuits are very popular, we knew that a jumpsuit in this fabric filled a void in the market offerings and would be a great item to add to our collection. 

Why did you choose this dress? What about it makes it so great?

I absolutely love our Stevie dress. While the body silhouette is simple, the dress is spectacular with its striking placement print and fluid, flirty chiffon sleeves.

What occasion would you suggest someone wear this dress to? How would you style it?

Any party, special occasion or any time you want to be a stand out.

Is this a new dress silhouette to Connected Apparel's collection? If yes, why did you decide to put it on the line? If not, what has been so great about it?

The basic silhouette we have done in other novelty fabrics, but this is a first with a placement print. We knew that this was a silhouette that we could move in many directions with. This is the first signature placement print in the Stevie dress with more to come!
