Our Exclusive Eco-Friendly Dress
Who is Terra? Well, Terra is the name of our exclusive online-only eco-friendly dress which derives its name from the word “Tera” meaning earth. According to longtime members of the Connected Apparel family, the fabric used to create this dress has been stored in our warehouse for over 14 years. Originally, it was intended for a previous style that never materialized. However, years later, we repurposed the material to create a versatile and simple style, which we called "The Dress" at the time. Today, we are thrilled to announce that our deadstock material was not wasted, and we repurposed the fabric to make Terra! Made locally in Los Angeles, CA, Terra is now available to our Connected Apparel family in five vibrant colors for under $50!
How can you wear Terra?
Terra is so versatile it can practically be worn for any season. It's an excellent choice for maximalist fashion seekers looking for a vibrant piece to mix and layer, while minimalists can wear it with little to no accessories. Which style best fits you?
Are you a sneakers and cap kind of gal? If so, sporty chic might be your aesthetic and she works perfectly with Terra. Terra looks great with a basic pair of sneakers and a baseball cap paired with a denim or button shirt creating an effortless, yet comfy look. For those chilly summer nights, switch out that denim shirt for a jacket or pullover sweater to keep your casually cool look.
Monochromatic looks are trending this season, especially with the color of the year: magenta. However, all of our Terra dresses can be worn with monochromatic accessories to create a seamless statement look. Accessorizing a monochromatic Terra dress with metallic or sparkly jewelry can add some glamour to the look while keeping it cohesive. For a more subtle take on the trend, consider layering different shades of the same color for a tonal look. You can also mix and match different textures and fabrics, such as silk and cotton, to add some depth and interest to the outfit. The versatility of the Terra dress allows for endless possibilities when it comes to creating monochromatic looks.
Pop of Color & Animal Print
You can add a pop of color if the monochromatic look is not your style. Adding a pop color can be as simple as adding a black belt and purse to get the most out of your classic pieces or you can turn it up a notch and go brighter! For example, wearing our navy blue Terra with yellow accessories gives you a sophisticated yet nautical aura.
Another way to add a touch of personal style is to show your wild side with a hint of animal print. The solid color of the Terra creates the perfect canvas to add a fierce print such as zebra, leopard, or even snake print! Animal print accessories like a scarf, belt, or shoes can elevate any outfit without going overboard. You can also mix and match different animal prints for a bold and playful look.
Pop of Color
If accessories and vibrant pops of color are not your thing, you may be a minimalist. It involves using a minimal amount of clothing and accessories to create a streamlined and effortless look. Minimalist fashion typically features neutral colors, such as black, white, and beige, and emphasizes the quality and construction of the garments over flashy designs or logos. The idea behind minimalist fashion is to focus on the essentials and create a wardrobe of versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. Being that Terra is a simplistic addition to a wardrobe, pair her with a staple bag and an accessory or two to achieve this look.
Terra is not just a beautiful dress, but she is also a step toward the future of sustainable fashion. The deadstock materials and manufacturing in the USA makes it a responsible choice for those who want to look good while also protecting the environment. By wearing Terra, you are not only making a fashion statement, but also contributing to the global effort to reduce our carbon footprint. Let Terra be a symbol of our commitment to sustainability and a reminder that fashion and the planet can coexist harmoniously.
